Do you have a virus checker and firewall?

I would strongly advise everybody to go to http://grc.com/default.htm and look for the ‘Shields Up’ banner. Click on it and it will take you to a page where you can run two tests to see how secure your system is against hackers.

This site has a lot of interesting stuff on PC security.

If you find that your system isn’t secure you can download ZoneAlarm which is a free firewall.

I have been doing a bit of reading up on Trojan viruses. If a hacker gets into your machine using one they have total control. They can view everything on your PC, copy files, move files, delete files, get all your passwords, change your passwords, format your hard drive, even use your webcam!

I thought this was worth mentioning. :o)
