When a snake is coming up to shed it’s skin, it’s eyes become very cloudy.

This makes the animal virtually blind.

Because of this it can become very nervous and may strike out at anything coming near it, including your hand.

Quite a few snakes won’t feed at this time, simply because they don’t feel safe.

For this reason, it’s best to avoid handling or feeding until after the snake has shed.
