I first got into snakes when I was young and have wanted one ever since. I didn't get  one until last week and I'm coming up for thirteen. I was only allowed one if I read loads of books about them, the problem is that the books contradict each other! So you don't know who to go with.

When my granddad went to R.D. Rintoul Pet Care Centre in Bathgate they told us about Petsnakes. We arranged to meet Jim Lind for lunch and have a chat! before we went to the shop! He told us everything we needed to know like how to feed them, what to do if there is any problems with shedding & things + more important what type of snake that is good for beginners.

Saturday last week we got an Amelanistic Corn Snake who we called Oscar and is only a hatchling. When we got him he was getting ready to shed, we were going to keep it's shedding to compare to it's size when he is 4ft long or whatever! but my grandad tore its shed in half trying to measure it! That's why I don't let him hold Oscar in case he does it to him.

When Jim came to take photos of Oscar he also brought his Sinaloan Milksnake so my granddad said once Oscar moves into his viv we can get another one if I prove my commitment and dedication with Oscar.
