Hi my name is Ben and I am 9 years old. I  have wanted a snake for about 2 years, and my mum and dad eventually got me one last month for my birthday. A hatchling Corn Snake from RD Rintoul Pet Care Centre in Bathgate.

They had been trying to put me off getting one only because they didn't know anything about snakes and maybe thought that I was too young. When they realised that I was serious they decided to find out what they could and got me one.

They just  found out the basics like what they ate, what they lived in, what size it would  grow to etc, and found it wasn’t such a big deal. I have now been in contact with Jim Lind at Petsnakes and learned so much more.I hope to meet more people through the Petsnakes Directory with the same interest as me and go on to find out as much as I can as I still have a lot to learn.

It is just over a month since I got my snake and already my mum and dad are talking about getting another one as they are getting really interested as well, they are on the Petsnakes web site every night (sad or what).

The only problem now is getting someone to look after it when I go on holiday but my great-gran said she would look after it, she's 75! 

Maybe I'll get her one for her next birthday.  :o)
