BDO 2002

The BDO 2002 was held at the Scottish Raptor Centre near Kinross in Scotland.

It was my first chance to organise something a bit special, aimed more at the whole family rather than the resident reptile geek.  ;o)

I was hoping that quite a few people would turn up, I wasn’t disappointed.

The grand total for the day was 76!

What can I say except, thank you!

It shows that people are prepared to make the effort even when they know that no animals are for sale. The chance to meet other hobbyists, to share experiences and chat is enough.  :o)

Some people had travelled hundreds of miles to be there.

The feedback that I have received about the BDO has been excellent. I’m glad that everybody felt that it was worth the journey. :o)

I’d like to say a special thank you to Roland from Bug U Like in Aberdeen. He brought down various animals for people to see, including Chameleons, a Bearded Dragon, Leopard Geckos, A Nile Monitor............ I’m sure I’ve forgotten some!

I hope everybody learned something useful at the BDO. I know that at least one person learned a couple of things, like why you should wash your hands after handling a snake. Especially when you are going to be picking up a Kingsnake next.  ;o)

The second lesson was how to get a Kingsnake off his finger without hurting either the snake, or himself.

Did we all laugh?

Hell, yeah!  ;o)
