You would think that the person selling the animal would know everything about it.....wrong!

I have heard a few stories where it was obvious that the person selling the animal knew very little about it.

Read as much as you can on your chosen animal before you buy and ask people who already keep them for advice.

When you go to see the animal, ask a few questions that you already know the answers to.

You may find a few very slight discrepancies but if you get answers that are completely different don’t buy the animal!

Questions that you could ask are

1) What temperature gradient do I need?

2) Does it need special lighting?

3) What does it eat and how often?

4) How big will it get?

5) Can I bring it back if I am having problems? (This will really test them)
